In 1992 we bought a 15 hectare farm in Umbria, close to the border with Tuscany. Part of the farm activities is "agritourism", beeing in one of the most beautiful landscapes of Italy. We restructured first the farmhouse, where a very nice flat is available for visitors, and recently we have finished restoring two apartments for agritourism. The property is situated on top of a hill from where you can enjoy stunning views of Panicale, Paciano, Città della Pieve, Chiusi, Montepulciano, Lake of Chiusi, Monte Cetona e Monte Amiata.

The type of holiday people want is a very personal thing. If you are looking for classy entertainment 24 hours a day, then I'm afraid La Casetta may not be for you. But if you are looking for peace, quiet, beautiful scenery and a unique quality of light, then you, like our many guests over the years, will love it here. We are situated in the perfect place for exploring this fascinating and unspoiled part of Italy

Things to see and do: Without going too far afield, there are beautiful trips to be made on foot or by bicycle. (bicycles in different sizes are available for the guests) Ideal for day-trips, in an hour or two you can reach historic cities such as Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, Perugia, Assisi and Orvieto, to name but a few. From Chiusi, Intercity trains take you to the centre of Rome or Florence in 1½ hours (avoiding the stress of driving and parking in big cities) Coming closer to home, there are spectacular things to see such as the Etruscan tombs and the Etruscan museum at Chiusi, or the paintings by "il Perugino" in the Church at Citta della Pieve, about 15 minutes away by car Lake Trasimeno, with its ever-changing colours and fascinating islands; Lake Chiusi and the hot-water springs in the volcanic area around Monte Amiata, all make unforgettable excursions The whole year round many cultural events like the medieval contests in the old cities, art exhibitions or music festivals are organized in the area Last but not least, the area offers a great choice of excellent typical products like wine, olive oil, truffles or sheep's cheese, all well-known for their high quality. There are restaurants of all categories serving traditional dishes.

THE FARMHOUSE AND THE APARTMENTS The main building includes a very beautiful flat with a floor area of about 100 sq. meters. There are: 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a living- and dining area with a caracteristic fire-place, a well equipped kitchen and a balcony with an additional sofabed. Two of the bedrooms have twin beds, the third one is smaller with a single bed (child). The flat provides comfortably accomodation for up to 6 people. The flat is very nicely furnished and has also gas central heating system. THE APARTMENTS: Each one has a floor area of about 60 sq. meters. Both of them have 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a living room with kitchen corner. The bedrooms have twin beds (or a double bed), providing accommodation for 4 people. The maximum number may be increased to 6 by using the sofabed in the living room. The apartments are comfortably furnished, have a very large, covered terrace and are separated from the main building.

THE PRICES We usually let the apartments by the week and the prices vary between Euro 80.00 per day (low season) and Euro 110.00 per day (high season). The flat in the main-building is also let by the week for a price between Euro 110.00 (low season) and Euro 130.00 (high season) per day. These prices include: bed-sheets and towels change of bed-sheets, towels and cleaning of the rooms once a week the consumption of electricity, water and gas. Extra charges: heating: Euro 5.00 par day final cleaning: Euro 50.00

The farm is situated between Lake Trasimeno and Lake Chiusi among rolling hill, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, fields and woods. The nearest village, "Villastrada" is 3km (2 miles) away. "Castiglione del Lago" and "Lake Trasimeno" can be reached within 15 minutes by car. In the opposite direction we are 6 km (4 miles) from "Chiusi"; its roofs can be seen from the terrace. The nearest exit from motorway "Autostrada A1" (Florence - Rome) is "Chiusi-Chianciano Terme" which is 15 minutes from the house.
